Daniel está em coma e refugiou-se num sonho onde exerce a sua paixão: construir veleiros em garrafas. Mas as memórias de sua esposa vêm perturbar a mecânica do seu sonho fazendo-o interrogar sobre o seu próprio confinamento.
 
Acordará Daniel no fim desta luta interior?

Daniel est dans le coma. Il s'est réfugié dans un rêve où il s'adonne à sa passion : enfermer des bateaux dans des bouteilles. Mais les souvenirs de sa femme viendront bientôt perturber la mécanique de son rêve et l'interroger sur son propre enfermement.
 
Daniel se réveillera-t-il au terme de ce combat intérieur ?

Daniel is in the coma. He took refuge with a dream where he devotes to his passion: lock boats into bottles. But soon the souvenirs of his wife will come to disrupt the mechanics of its dream and to question him about its own confinement.

"Giovanni Biondo Veneto Capitano fecce anno 1792"

No início dos anos 90 pude percorrer a sala dos "reservados" do Museu da Marinha em Lisboa e encontrar uma das surpresas da minha vida: o segundo barco numa garrafa mais antigo do mundo. Avistei em cima de uma prateleira uma forma esférica cinzenta pela poeira que a cobria, passei um dedo para retirar o pó e ...era uma fragata de guerra, com o nome "FAMA", dentro de uma garrafa sobre o gargalo invertido! Na base da embarcação, a indicação de que tinha sido feita por Giovanni Biondo, Capitão de Veneza e tinha a data de 1792. Isto desmentia a tese de que esta arte teria começado no Séc. XIX e que era uma arte popular!  

Fiquem com imagens desta maravilha que tem uma irmã mais velha em Lübeck, na Alemanha, feita pelo mesmo autor, que pode ver clicando aqui.

In the early 90s I could visit the Lisbon Marine Museum Reserved Room. In this magic place I found one of the surprises of my life: the second oldest ship in bottle of the world. I saw a gray dust spherical form and, when I passed a finger over the dirt, I can saw a magnificient war frigate named "FAMA" in a bottle inverted over the neck! At the base of the vessel was a handwritten inscription indicating that it had been made by Giovanni Biondo, Captain of Venice and was dated 1792.  

The belief that the beginning of the ship in bottle art would have started in the XIX century and was a popular art crumbled!

BarcoS em Garrafa / ShipS in Bottle

Garrafas, cada uma com mais de uma embarcação são uma variante de uma arte em que a norma é a de um elemento apenas. Há já muitos anos realizei uma peça com aquelas características, através de uma composição em que o cenário é o Cais das Colunas em Lisboa, Portugal e os protagonistas são um Hiate de Setúbal (à vossa esquerda) e um Caíque do Algarve (à vossa direita). Deixo-vos com imagens desse "mar" e, posteriormente, com outras imagens contextuais; do cenário a que recorri , do Hiate de Setúbal e, finalmente, do Caíque do Algarve (cliquem nas imagens para as aumentar). More than one vessel in a Bottle is a variant of an art in which the norm is an element only. Many years ago I made a piece performing a composition in which the scenario is the "Cais das Colunas" in Lisbon, Portugal, and the protagonists are one "Hiate de Setúbal" (on your left) and a "Caíque do Algarve (on your right) . O "mar" de Yasser Arafat / Yasser Arafat ship in bottle

Já aqui tínhamos referido a existência de motivos políticos bem definidos em garrafas, mas não tínhamos, contudo, referido como a nossa arte pode ser embaixatriz de boas vontades políticas. Deixo-vos aqui uma imagem comprovativa desse facto. Embora não consiga registar o ano, trata-se de um barco em garrafa, típico presente da cidade de Bremen, Alemanha, presenteado por Wilfried Mammes ao presidente Yasser Arafat em Ramallah que, segundo a legenda, gostava de coleccionar este tipo de arte.

We had   previously mention the existence of politic motives well defined in the bottles but we hadn’t how our art can be the ambassador of good will polities; Below an image proving that fact; Although unable to register the year it is a typical boat in a  bottle given to the Bremen city in Germany; it was given by Wilfried Mammes to  President Arafat in Ramallah who it is said was a collector of this art.
