The method Alan used is the same as I use, the hull is hollow and made to scale. Alan is also the editor of the BottleShipp of  European Association of Ships in Bottles' Bottle Ship  magazine, which I also belong to. According to  Wikipedia , the  Galway hooker  (Irish: bád mór or húicéir) is a traditional sailing vessel characteristic of  Galway Bay  on the west coast of Ireland. This vessel, which transported peat and was also a fishing vessel, was developed for the rough and stormy waters of these seas. Traditionally this vessel is black and the sails are a dark brownish red.
